CM Bhagwant Mann is holding a cabinet meeting
An important meeting of the Punjab Ministry was held today at the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. In which the dates of the next assembly session were decided. Briefing after the Cabinet meeting, Cabinet Ministers Harpal Cheema and Aman Arora said that the Monsoon Session of the Punjab Assembly will be for 3 days from September 2 to September 4. During this period, many important bills will be introduced. The cabinet minister said that the meeting has made new rules for Punjab state education for children with disabilities, for which the new policy has been approved.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also said that in today’s cabinet meeting many important decisions were taken for the overall development of Punjab, in which it was decided to increase the duration of NOC in Punjab Fire Safety from 1 year to 3 years. Apart from this, it has been agreed to give special concession to women in the recruitment process under the Fire Safety Act.
Youth Sports Policy approved in Punjab
Harpal Cheema and Aman Arora said that the youth sports policy of the state has been approved to engage youth in sports in Punjab. Youths aged 15 to 35 years in each village will become its members and will also be given money for sports activities.
The NOC category in the registry has been abolished
Aman Arora said that the NOC matter was pending in the registry for a long time. Many illegal colonies were established in Punjab during the previous governments. The category of NOC will be abolished in the registry soon. The Chief Minister himself is keeping a close eye on this matter. This has been discussed in detail in the cabinet. All lands registered by July 31, 2024 will be issued NOC.
Regarding the Cabinet meeting, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora also said that earlier councilors were paid Rs 75 per day for settling family disputes in the family court. Now 3000 rupees per day will be given for legal aid.
Tree Conservation Policy-2024 has been given green light
At the same time, the Cabinet has given the green light to the Tree Conservation Policy-2024 for non-forest government and public lands. Punjab is an agricultural state with 83 percent of its area under cultivation. The total area under forests and trees in Punjab is 5.92 percent and the Punjab government has set a target to increase this area to 7.5 percent by 2030.
The objective of this policy, he said, is to provide adequate protection to trees standing on non-forest government and public lands and to provide adequate provisions for compensation of environmental damage caused by tree plantation.
