Last week, Reliance Industries and TCS were the biggest losers in market capitalisation.

Last week was a very bad one for the two largest companies in the country. Yes, here the country’s largest company Reliance Industries and the country’s largest IT company Tata Consultancy Services have together earned Rs 95 billion. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries suffered a loss of over Rs 60,800 crore. On the other hand, Tata’s TCS has suffered a loss of over Rs 34,000 crore. The country’s largest government lender also suffered no less losses.

If we talk about the top 10 companies in the country by market capitalisation, eight companies have suffered a total loss of Rs 2,01,699.77 crore. Last week, the benchmark BSE index fell by 1,181.84 points or 1.43 per cent. While two companies, HUL and HDFC, remained profitable. How much loss did the country’s top 10 companies suffer?

  1. The market valuation of the country’s largest company, Reliance Industries, declined by Rs 60,824.68 crore to Rs 19,82,282.42 crore.
  2. The valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest company in the Tata Group, declined by Rs 34,136.66 crore to Rs 16,12,762.51 crore.

  4. The valuation of State Bank of India, the country’s largest government lender, has declined by Rs 29,495.84 crore to Rs 6,98,440.13 crore.
  5. The market capitalisation of Bharti Airtel, one of the largest telecom companies in the country, declined by Rs 28,379.54 crore to Rs 8,76,207.58 crore.
  6. The market capitalisation (MCAP) of Infosys, one of the largest IT services companies in the country, has declined by Rs 17,061.44 crore to Rs 7,89,819.06 crore.
  7. The market capitalisation of the country’s largest insurance company, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), declined by Rs 16,381.74 crore to Rs 6,57,009.14 crore.
  8. The MCA of ICICI Bank, the country’s second-largest private lender, declined by Rs 15,169.76 crore to Rs 8,51,204.65 crore.
  9. Apart from this, the mcap of ITC, one of the largest consumer goods companies in the country, declined by Rs 250.11 crore to Rs 6,27,337.65 crore.
  10. The country’s largest consumer goods company Hindustan Unilever added Rs 14,179.78 crore, taking its market valuation to Rs 6,66,919.73 crore.
  11. The mcap of HDFC Bank, the country’s largest private lender, rose by Rs 3,735.35 crore to Rs 12,47,941.78 crore.
