UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
10 assembly seats are falling vacant in Uttar Pradesh. The polling dates for these seats can be announced anytime after the announcement by the Election Commission. This time BJP wants to maintain its dominance in UP again under the pretext of assembly by-elections. In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, BJP lost 29 seats. Due to which BJP was left behind in the majority figures.
But now the BJP camp has decided that what happened happened. Now the Indian alliance has to be defeated on every front. BJP’s think tank has prepared a road map for this. This strategy involves giving Muslim-majority seats to allied parties. The motto is that even the snake should die and the stick should not break.
What is the equation of seats?
The Samajwadi Party had 5 seats out of the 10 by-elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh. BJP had three seats. While one seat each was held by BJP’s allies RLD and Nishad Party. There has been an uproar in the UP BJP after its poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections. Party leaders are blaming each other for the defeat.
In such a situation, to streamline the House, the central leadership of the BJP aims to win all 10 seats. A separate committee has been formed to win Milkipur seat in Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency. Awadhesh Prasad, MLA from Milkipur, has been elected as Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad. Ayodhya is in this Lok Sabha seat. This defeat has become a thorn in the neck for BJP. Ayodhya and Ram Mandir have been BJP’s issue for years.
BJP’s plan on Muslim seats
BJP is also preparing to wrest Kundarki seat from Samajwadi Party. Kundarki assembly constituency in Sambhal district has 62 percent Muslim voters. BJP won here only once in 1993. Last time, Ziaur Rehman Burke of Samajwadi Party was elected as MLA from here. He has now become a Samajwadi Party MP from Sambhal. He is the grandson of senior party leader Shafiqar Rehman Burke.
This time BJP wants to give this seat to Rashtriya Lok Dal. This time BJP wants to spoil the Samajwadi Party’s game by fielding a Muslim candidate from RLD. For this, the state leadership of BJP is in touch with two Muslim leaders of Samajwadi Party.
Looking for strong candidates
UP BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary is looking for strong candidates for the by-election these days. Among the ten seats on which by-elections are to be held, the Mirapur seat in Muzaffarnagar was held by the RLD. Chandan Chauhan, MLA from here, has now become Lok Sabha MP from Bijnor. This time BJP wants to keep Mirapur and give Kundarki seat to RLD. However, the talks with Jayant Chaudhary have not been finalized yet.
Talks are going on with two Samajwadi Party leaders to field a strong candidate from Kundaraki. Sources said he has also met the state leadership of the party. One of them was a minister in the Mayawati government. Now she is with Akhilesh Yadav. While other leaders have been MLAs of Peace Party. Now he is also in Samajwadi Party. If not, BJP may decide to field one of its own candidates.
