There is also the character of Dr. Hathi. The character is played by actor Nirmal Soni. People love him in this role. Apart from this serial, he has also worked in many other TV shows and films. Recently he revealed that he received a film offer from YRF, but turned it down.
In a conversation with Instant Bollywood, Nirmal Soni said, “I am getting a lot of offers. Just got an offer from Yashraj Films. But what is not true is that nowadays the schedule of films is made in such a way that the entire film is completed in one go. So I still needed 45 consecutive days for Yash Raj’s film. So it is not possible for you to disappear from TV shows for such a long time. That’s why it becomes a little difficult.”

However, when ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’ started in the year 2008, Nirmal Soni was associated with this TV show. However, later in the year 2009, he was replaced by actor poet Kumar Azad in the show. After the demise of poet Kumar Azad in the year 2018, Nirmal Soni once again joined the show.
