Ramnivas Rawat (FB) after being sworn in as Minister

In Madhya Pradesh, the cabinet was expanded for the second time under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. In a program held at Raj Bhavan, only one MLA was made a minister in the Mohan Yadav government. Ramnivas Rawat, who quit the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been made a cabinet minister. However, there was some confusion during the swearing-in, so he had to take the oath of office twice.

It happened that Ramniwas Rawat was sworn in as a minister of state earlier this morning. After this there was confusion whether he has become a minister of state or a cabinet minister? Later, when the information was received, it was found that he was supposed to take oath as a cabinet minister, but he took oath as a minister of state. After this he again took oath as a cabinet minister.

Ramnivas is a 6 time MLA

Earlier, CM Mohan Yadav met Governor Mangubhai Patel at Raj Bhavan last Sunday evening. Sources then said that the cabinet expansion will take place at 9 am on Monday. However, it was not revealed yesterday how many new people would be inducted into the cabinet, but it was also claimed that only one new member would be sworn in as a minister.

Ramniwas Rawat, who has been a six-time MLA from Vijaypur assembly seat in Sheopur district, has been included in the Mohan Yadav cabinet. Rawat joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) almost two months ago on April 30 during the Lok Sabha election campaign.

Rawat may resign from the post of MLA

Even though it has been more than 2 months since Ramniwas Rawat joined the ruling BJP, he is yet to resign from the MP assembly as a Congress MLA. However, sources associated with the BJP said there is a possibility that Ramnivas may resign as a Congress MLA after taking oath as a minister.

After becoming a minister, Rawat can resign from the post of MLA to the Speaker. After this re-election will be held on his assembly seat.
