The police encounter of Mangesh Yadav, the accused in the jewellers’ robbery case of Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur, will be investigated by a magistrate. Sultanpur District Magistrate has ordered an investigation. Labhua SDM Vidushi Singh has been entrusted with the responsibility of investigating the matter. Earlier, Allahabad High Court lawyer Dr. Gajendra Singh Yadav filed a case in the National Human Rights Commission calling this police encounter fake. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also questioned the encounter.
On August 28, miscreants looted Om Ornament jewelery shop in Sultanpur city. Around 12 noon, 5 miscreants on two bikes robbed the shop of jewelery and cash worth Rs 1 crore 40 lakh at gunpoint. All the miscreants had their faces covered. After committing the robbery, he fled on a bike from National Cinema Road. Later all the miscreants went to Rae Bareli in a bolero car.
12 miscreants were involved in the robbery incident
The police checked the CCTV cameras of the area. During the investigation, it was found that 12 criminals were involved in the robbery incidents. Police has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh each on all miscreants. The main leader of the gang, Vipin Singh, surrendered before the police. Around the same time, one of the accused, Jaunpur resident Mangesh Yadav, was killed in a police encounter.
These miscreants had committed a crime
Of the 12 criminals who robbed the jewelery shop, 9 are said to be from Amethi. Including Pushpendra Singh, Tribhuvan, Sachin Singh, Vipin Singh, Vinay Shukla, Ajay Yadav, Arvind Yadav, Vivek Singh, Durgesh Singh, Furqan, Anuj Pratap, Arbaaz, Mangesh Yadav and Ankit Yadav. Out of which Furkan, Anuj Pratap, Arbaaz, Mangesh Yadav and Ankit Yadav carried out the robbery in the shop. Other goons were backing him up. A bolero vehicle was also arranged by him.
Akhilesh Yadav raised questions
SP president Akhilesh Yadav raised questions on Mangesh Yadav’s encounter and said that Mangesh Yadav was killed in the encounter due to caste. At the same time, the Allahabad High Court lawyer who filed the complaint in the Human Rights Commission termed it as a fake encounter. He says that when the mastermind of the robbery had surrendered, co-accused Mangesh Yadav could have also surrendered. They say that no major criminal case was registered against Mangesh and neither was he a habitual criminal.
