Sukhibar Singh Badal.
The core committee was suddenly dissolved amid an ongoing rebellion in the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab. The rebels demanded the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal. After the dissolution of the core committee, Akali Dal spokesperson and senior leader Dr. Daljit Cheema said that the working committee has empowered Sukhbir Badal to rebuild the party organization.
Prem Singh Chandumajra, Surjit Rakhda and Sikandar Singh Maluka were the core committee members who demanded resignation from Sukhbir Badal.
Rebel Akali leader Gurpratap Singh Wadala criticized Badal’s move, saying that instead of showing a sense of resignation, he issued a dictatorial order aimed at sidelining those who wanted change to strengthen the party.
