Protest against rape in Bengal.
The body of the junior doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Friday morning last week. In seven days, the incident has taken a new turn. The principal of the medical college was removed. Women took to the streets demanding justice. The Kolkata High Court has ordered a CBI probe into the rape case. Meanwhile, the manner in which the RGK Medical College was attacked on Wednesday night is being condemned from all quarters. From protest platforms to hospital wards have been demolished. In such a situation, the city of Kolkata is almost closed on Friday.
Doctors in Kolkata and across the country have announced an indefinite strike. Because of this, work is likely to stop in hospitals across the country, including Kolkata. Doctors are protesting against the murder and rape of a junior doctor in RG Kar Medical College. In Kolkata as well as in other cities of the country, protests were held on the roads at midnight.
Mamata will hit the road on Friday
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given an ultimatum to the CBI to punish the criminals. He has said that he should be hanged by next Sunday. Trinamool will hit the streets on Friday afternoon with this demand. Mamata Banerjee’s procession will take off from Maulali to Dori crossing. The procession will start at 3 pm and through this procession, the accused in the rape case will be demanded to be punished and hanged.

12 hour closure of SUCI
SUCI has announced a bandh after the attack on RG Car on Wednesday midnight. A 12-hour Bengal Bandh has been announced from Friday morning. The bandh has been announced in protest against the horrifying incident at the hospital.
However, state secretariat Nabanna has said that the government does not support the bandh. Action will be taken against those participating in the bandh. Every employee of the state government has been instructed to attend.
BJP will hit the road
On one hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will march from Moulali to Dharmatalla, on the other hand, BJP has planned to march towards the Chief Minister’s residence. BJP’s procession will go from Hazra Mor to the Chief Minister’s residence.
On Friday, the BJP announced a road jam in every district of the state. A road jam has been announced from 2 pm. Also, government employees have been requested to stop all work for 2 hours on Friday.
CPI(M) will observe ‘Hate Day’
Despite not supporting the SUCI strike, the CPM announced a separate programme. A state-wide ‘Dhikkar Diwas’ has been announced on Friday. The resignation of the state health minister and home minister has been demanded. Apart from this, the arrest of former RG Tax Chief Sandeep Ghosh has also been demanded.
Doctors will ease the pain, strike
President of Service Doctors Forum Dr. Durga Prasad Chakraborty and General Secretary, Dr. Sejal Biswas said that they attacked RG Kar to protest the brutal violence and efforts to suppress the rape and murder of women doctors. Against this, there will be a pen-down for all government doctors except emergency services on August 15 and 16.
He said that we strongly condemn the fascist-style attack on the protesting doctors, students and health workers on duty. In support of the demands of protesting doctors and students and in the interest of defending democracy against dictatorship, we have called for a pan-down program excluding emergency services in the state health sector on August 16 in protest against this attack.
Thousands of doctors and health workers from Delhi and surrounding cities will hold a protest march at India Gate at 6 pm on Friday.
