Stree 2 broke this record of Shah Rukh Khan
The release date of ‘Stree 2’ was fixed on 15th August. But suddenly this decision changed and the makers made up their minds and thought that witch comes at night, so ‘Stree 2’ should also come at night. Subsequently, preparations were made in advance to welcome ‘Stri 2’ on the night of 14th August. However, there was another reason for doing so. Indeed, along with Stree 2, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Veda were also releasing on the occasion of August 15. To avoid this megaclash, the makers took a big decision to come a night early and surprisingly, this decision also broke Shah Rukh Khan’s 11-year-old record.
‘Stree 2’ started its journey at the box office with a paid preview show on 14th August at 9:30 PM. After running around 3000 shows, the film began to receive good response from the audience. Seeing this, it was speculated that the film will earn close to 10 crore rupees. According to a Saknilk report, Stree 2 has collected Rs 8 crore in paid previews. As far as Thursday’s opening collections are concerned, it is estimated that the film has collected Rs 12.51 crore so far.

Breaking Shahrukh Khan’s 11-year-old record
But with just two shows a night, ‘Stree 2’ has broken Shah Rukh Khan’s 11-year-old record. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chennai Express’, which released in 2013, set the record years ago. 11 years ago, ‘Chennai Express’ collected Rs 6.50 crore in paid previews, which has now been broken by the Shraddha Kapoor horror comedy sequel. However, no one has been able to break the record of Shahrukh’s film for the last 11 years. Now call it the luck of the film or lack of effort by others.
While paid previews on holidays may have proved good for ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Stree 2’, this idea doesn’t work much in Bollywood. Hollywood feature films are among the names in the list of biggest previews in India. Seeing the kind of response that ‘Stree 2’ is getting, it seems that this film can prove to be a threat to the films of many stars.
