Shocking incident in Jamner of Jalgaon
Kishore Patil, TV9 correspondent, Jalgaon: The victim’s family lives in a village in Jamner taluka. The family earns a living by doing labour work. The accused took advantage of the fact that the girl was alone at home on Tuesday morning when her parents had gone out to make a deal. The suspect lives in the same area where the girl lives. He lured the girl out of the house and offered her chocolates. He then took her to a banana plantation outside the village and raped her. He then brutally murdered her and fled.
What happened after the incident?
The entire Jalgaon district has been shaken by this heartbreaking incident. A case was registered against the accused in Jamner police station in this matter. The absconding accused hid in the forest of the area. Five police teams were engaged in searching for him. When the accused was not found even after a week, the Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party held a press conference and directly demanded the resignation of Minister Girish Mahajan. He also warned that if the accused was not arrested, he would go on a hunger strike.
After this, Minister Girish Mahajan, who was on a tour of Jalgaon district, along with the Superintendent of Police, also met the relatives, family members and community members of the victim girl. Girish Mahajan had given instructions to arrest the accused immediately.
About ten days later, yesterday evening, the police arrested the accused after getting information that he was in Bhusaval city. After getting information about the arrest of the accused, the people of the community tried to beat up the accused here. But the police saved him from the clutches of the people of the community and he was taken to Jalgaon.
Angry crowd outside Jamner police station
On receiving the information that the accused has been arrested by the police, a crowd gathered in front of Jamner police station at around 8 pm last night. Hand over the accused to us. The crowd protested in front of Jamner police station and demanded that we punish him. Soon the rasta roko movement took a violent turn. The police did a mild lathicharge to control the crowd. Also, the police tried to gain control by using force. But this further infuriated the crowd. The crowd started arson and soon the incident took a different turn and the crowd pelted stones at the Jamner police station.
Due to stone pelting, 10 to 15 employees including a police inspector of Jamner police station were injured. Eight people were injured in this, they were admitted to a private hospital in Jalgaon for treatment. After some time, a police convoy reached Jamner. The police somehow controlled the incident. A huge pile of stones fell in the Jamner police station premises. In fact, when the door of the police station was broken, stones were seen inside.
Treatment of injured policemen started
At present, six employees injured in this incident are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Jalgaon. One employee has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit as his condition is critical. Meanwhile, a case of stone pelting has been registered at Jamner police station. The police have so far arrested 15 suspected accused in this crime. CCTV camera footage of the crowd pelting stones in Thane has also surfaced.
At night, a large number of forces were deployed at this place in Jamner. At present, the situation in Jamner is under control and there is peace. To maintain law and order, a route march was also taken out by the police in Jamner city this morning. Till the last news was received in this case, the police action of presenting the accused in the court was going on.
