The student was on night duty at the hospital
According to the information, the PGT lady doctor in the chest medicine department was on duty at the hospital. The student went to the seminar hall to rest. Initially, the incident was being treated as a suicide, but after the injury marks found on Vidyarthini’s body, it is suspected that Vidyarthini was raped and then murdered. Injuries were also found on the student’s stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, fingers and lips. The neck bone of the deceased was found to be broken. What happened that night?
Colleagues of RG Kar claimed that a lady junior doctor was on duty along with two other PGTs (post-graduate students) on Thursday night. He had dinner at 2 p.m. and went to rest till 3 o’clock. The duty lasts for 36 hours continuously, so the doctors rest in the seminar room. A lady doctor entered the seminar hall alone. He did not speak to the other two during the night. She did not turn up when she was called for rounds in the morning, after which staff who went to investigate found the student half-naked and dead.
What was found in the post mortem?
The preliminary report of the postmortem of the lady doctor at RG Kar Hospital is shocking. The report said that the student may have been strangled to death. The eyes were bleeding, which is not normal according to the medical board members. A kind of ‘fluid’ has been found in the private parts. Apart from this, the incident took place between 3 pm and 6 am. It is being told that a bone on the right side of the girl’s neck is broken. Such fractures usually occur when strangulation is attempted by placing the hands on the throat. A preliminary postmortem report has revealed allegations of rape and murder. A headphone secret revealed
The accused was seen in the CCTV footage of the hospital. Police arrested him on Saturday morning after questioning. The accused was seen entering the hospital on Friday morning. He was inside for 30 to 35 minutes. He moved easily to every corner of the hospital. The accused was once admitted to the hospital at around 11 pm on Thursday night. After which he went out and drank alcohol, he was again admitted to the hospital at four in the morning in a state of intoxication. A Bluetooth headphone was seen around his neck when he came in, which was missing when he came out. Later, a broken part of the headphone was recovered from the spot. The police have arrested him on the basis of this headphone and CCTV footage. According to the information, the accused also kept many obscene videos in his mobile. In the preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the arrested youth is mentally disturbed.
