Bakhtiar Irani and Sara Ali Khan
Film and TV actor Bakhtiar Irani has claimed that he was dropped from Sara Ali Khan starrer Ae Watan Mere Watan and a bigger name was cast in his place. The film Vaatan Mere Vaatan was produced by Karan Johar’s production house Dharmatik Entertainment and directed by Kannan Iyer. The film was released on OTT platform Prime Video.
Bakhtiar said in an interview that he was approached for a role in the film. After getting the film, he started preparing for the role. According to Bakhtiar, he also lost 8 kg to play his character well. He did this because the makers asked him to lose weight. Bakhtiar worked hard to lose weight. Followed a diet and started working out.
Told many people
Bakhtiar said that he met director Kannan again after losing 8 kg in about a month and a half. The director said let’s sign the contract next week. He said, “Everything is done. I told my wife, family and close friends about it. I told about 30 people because I was signing the film the next day. I wonder what went wrong.” He said that in this film he was supposed to play the role of the person to whom Sara comes for help.
Bakhtiar said, “A very big name, a good actor (no)…I auditioned, auditioned properly, director Kannan liked me a lot. Everything was fine. But I decided not to talk about it. But it was a big shock for me because it was a big opportunity for me.
Who played the role?
Bakhtiar has not revealed the name of the person with whom he has been replaced. But from Bakhtiar’s entire statement it is being inferred that he was talking about Anand Tiwari. In this film he played the role of Firdaus Engineer. Now Anand is also directing Dharma’s next film Bad News.
