Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje quipped without naming anyone that some people consider themselves gold even after getting a brass clove. All kinds of speculations have started after Raje’s statement. Raje said, ‘You desire to touch the sky, but always keep your feet on the ground.’ Raj was addressing the civic honor program of Sikkim’s newly appointed Governor Omprakash Mathur at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.

Praising Mathur, Raje said, ‘No matter how high Om Mathur reaches, his feet always remain on the ground, that’s why he has countless fans. Otherwise many people consider themselves golden if they get a brass clove.

He said that such people should learn from Mathur that they aspire to touch the sky, but always keep their feet on the ground. Om Mathur is warm on the outside, soft on the inside, said Vasundhara, who made the impossible possible by making the lotus bloom in Chhattisgarh. A governor is not without power, but with power. While framing the constitution it was decided that as the country has a president there will be a governor to govern the state, so the governor is the most powerful person in the state. The Supreme Court has also said that the Governor can stop any bill. It acts on the advice of the Council of Ministers, but its decision is final as per Article 166(2).

CM Bhajanlal Sharma also praised Mathur

The former Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for appointing Mathur as the Governor of Sikkim. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who was present at the event, shared the memorable moments spent with Mathur and highlighted his personality and creativity. He expressed confidence that as the Governor of Sikkim, Mathur will always be ready for public service while fulfilling his constitutional responsibilities well. Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Dr. Premchand Bairwa, BJP state president Madan Rathore, Rajya Sabha member Ghanshyam Tiwari were also present.
