The police caught the bike thief.
Police have arrested two notorious bike thieves in Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Seven bikes without number plates have been recovered from the thieves. A pistol and cartridges were also recovered from his possession. Apart from Ghazipur, vicious thieves from Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Bihar also carried out the bike theft incidents. He used to sell stolen bikes in other districts.
As soon as they were caught by the police, both the thieves started pleading. He apologized to the police and took an oath not to steal. The police had to put in a lot of effort to catch these dastardly thieves. The police had to employ informers to nab him. Both the bike thieves have been booked and sent to jail.
He was planning to sell the stolen bike
Incidents of bike theft have increased in Gazipur Kotwali area since few days. The police were busy investigating. Based on information from an informer, the police arrested two bike thieves near a school in Miranpur Sakka village. Both the thieves were trying to sell the stolen bikes. Police and SWAT team took action and nabbed him. The arrested bike thieves are Arun Kumar and Suraj Kumar, residents of Bindwalia village.
Seven bikes were found
The police arrested both and interrogated them. At first he was not ready to say anything. But later he broke down and confessed his crime when faced with the strictness of the police. Police found seven bikes hidden in Chak Hussain Khalisapur village. All these did not have number plates. A pistol and cartridges have also been recovered from him. He kept it for his own protection while stealing.
He used to steal bikes from Bihar as well
Area Officer Sadar Sudhakar Pandey said that both the accused used to carry out bike theft incidents from Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Bihar. These people were selling bikes from Jaunpur to Gazipur, bikes from Gazipur to Azamgarh and bikes from Azamgarh to Bihar by making fake documents by changing number plates. He said that during interrogation, both have apologized for their mistake. The accused said that both of us used to steal bikes together in Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Bihar as well.
Used to distribute money
They used to share the money they got from selling bikes among themselves. Used to change the number plate of a stolen bike and hide it in a safe place. During the interrogation, Suraj Kumar said that Sir, forgive us, we steal the bike and sell it to support the family. Justice Sudhakar Pandey also said that the mastermind of this gang is Arun Kumar, who tried to carry out such incidents by luring many boys and offering money. Police are busy with further action.
