Ban on Sikh wedding scenes in film-TV serials

Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir has made a strong comment on the issue of fake marriages performed according to Sikh customs in a Hindi TV serial. Raghbir Singh has said that the people of TV serials and films have already been told that fake marriages are prohibited in front of Guru Granth Sahib. However, a similar case came to light two days ago in Ghaduya village near Mohali, in which a fake gurdwara was built and a fake Anand Karaj was organized.

This has hurt the hearts of Sikhs. It is very wrong to copy the sacred dignity of Anand Karaj in films and TV serials. We will take the incident report from SGPC. Shiromani Committee Chairman Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami strongly condemned acts of insulting holy Gurbani and hurting Sikh traditions in films and serials for money and said that such incidents which hurt the sentiments of Sikhs will not be tolerated.
