Star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin was the hero of Team India’s victory over Bangladesh in the Chennai Test, who scored a century in the first innings at their home ground and took 6 wickets in the second innings. But apart from him, the performances of several players also proved to be important in this victory, including Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. Both the batsmen scored a brilliant century and put on a brilliant partnership. This partnership led to Team India’s second innings comeback. Apart from the hard work of both, their hard practice and mutual understanding also played a major part in this partnership, which led to a good relationship off the field.

Gill and Pant had a long partnership on the third day of the first Test match against Bangladesh. The two batsmen combined to add 167 runs in India’s second innings, which eliminated Bangladesh from the contest. Meanwhile, Pant scored the sixth century of his first Test career. Then, shortly after his dismissal, Gill also crossed the hundred mark in Test cricket for the fifth time. Based on that, Team India gave Bangladesh a target of 515 runs to win which proved impossible for them.

This feature was the reason for the large participation

After the match, Pant has now said that the main reason for his partnership with Gill is their good relationship off the field. Pant revealed this in a video of his partnership posted by BCCI on social media. Pant said he has realized that if you have a good rapport with a player off the field, it becomes easier to bat with him because then both can understand each other. Pant said that he has a similar relationship with Gill and that is why both of them used to laugh and joke while batting but also focused on their target.

Will you do wonders in the second test too?

Pant scored 109 runs in this innings, while Gill also played an unbeaten innings of 119 runs. This partnership of both was important for Team India. The innings was particularly important for Pant as he returned to Test cricket after 21 months and scored a century on his return to put the team in a better position, leading to victory. A similar performance will now be expected from Pant in the Kanpur Test starting on September 27.
