The wedding procession reached the bride’s house with musical instruments. After the tilak, the bridegroom and the sehra-clad wedding procession were welcomed. The bride came on stage for the Jaymala ceremony but the groom turned red with anger as soon as he saw the bride’s face. Said- what’s going on? Where is my bride and who is this girl? Soon there was an uproar. A brawl started between the families of the bride and groom. Soon the dispute escalated to such an extent that the enraged villagers took the wedding procession hostage. Meanwhile, someone informed the police. The police reached the spot and freed the hostages. After this he took both the bride and groom to the police station. Amid high-voltage drama that lasted till late night at the police station, the groom refused to marry even the pre-arranged bride. He said – we have been cheated. Now I will not even marry a real girl.

The head of the police station pacified both sides. Eventually both parties agreed to get married. After this, in the presence of the police, the bridegroom took seven rounds of Santoshi Mata temple located in the police station premises with the same bride with whom his marriage was fixed earlier.

After persuasion the groom agreed.

The case is from Dhumnagar Bakhri village in Baruraj police station area. The marriage procession came here from Gaighat. The wedding ceremonies started and the wedding guests were having dinner. On the other side, the Jaimala ceremony was going on. Then everyone was surprised to hear the words of the bridegroom. As soon as he saw the face of the bride, he refused to marry. Due to this, there was a huge uproar in the wedding ceremony. The wedding guests were taken hostage. The police reached the spot and freed the hostages. After that there was an uproar in the police station regarding the same matter. But after persuasion the bridegroom was persuaded.

Then the bridegroom was married to the same girl with whom the relationship was fixed in the temple of the police station itself. After the completion of the wedding ceremonies, in the morning, the in-charge of the police station blessed the newlyweds and bid them farewell. The head of the police station said that the bride and groom were married after explaining to both the parties. No party has made any complaint in this matter.
