‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ written on ‘Mughal-e-Azam’

64 years ago A film directed by Asif hit the screens, which was ‘Mughal-e-Azam’. It is considered one of the classic films in the history of Hindi film industry. Even after all these years of release, people still love the characters and songs of this film. However, many other projects based on his story followed, but none were as successful as ‘Mughal-e-Azam’.

In the year 1989, Rajshree Production’s film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ was released, which became a superhit film on the big screen. Now you might be wondering why two different films are being talked about here. So the reason behind it is that these two films are connected. In fact, very few people know that the story of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ is based on ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, although it has been given many twists and innovations. Recently this was revealed by the director of the film Sooraj Barjatya. This film was his directorial debut and not only that, but Salman Khan also made his debut as a lead actor with this film. ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ received a lot of appreciation after its release.

Suraj Barjatya has written the entire story

Sooraj Barjatya emerged as a great director after ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. Recently, his name was announced as the Best Director for ‘Height’ at the 70th National Film Awards. After this, Sooraj Barjatya also participated in an event of the Screen Writers Association, where he shared the stories of his debut film. He said that at the time ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ was slated to release, none of the Rajshree production films were doing anything special. After which the production house decided to make ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. Along with this it was also decided that if this film does not work then this will be the last film of Rajshree. After everything was decided, Sooraj Barjatya’s father Rajkumar Barjatya asked him to write the story of the film. Sooraj said that he had never written any story before this film.

A film based on the story of ‘Mughal-e-Azam’

Rajkumar Barjatya said that the story of this film will be like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, in which Salim will be, Anarkali will be there, the two will have a love story and Akbar will be there. Hearing this, Suraj said that this story has already happened, what will be different about it now. In response, his father said that now this story will happen according to you. This story will be based on the life you have lived. What happened next was that Suraj started writing the story and his father started composing it. The hero is made 21 years old in the film, as Sooraj was also his age at that time. He first wrote the scene in which Suman is thrown out of the house, just as Anarkali is thrown out.

Put all the emotions in the story of the film

Sooraj clearly said that this love story will not be first side love. Then he started involving his real life people in the story of Mughal-e-Azam. Sooraj said that the kind of mother played by Reema Lagu in the film is exactly like my mother. Suman has become the girl I used to love so much. Sooraj kept putting all his emotions into the story of the film and the film got made. Sharing his experience, he said, “Everyone creates a love story, but no one else can write a story like you have experienced.”

Talking about his father, he said that my father supported me a lot for this film. It’s a great thing for someone to be allowed to write freely, I find. I kept writing the entire story of the film and it separated everyone.
