Saharanpur: Father injured in attack, son dead… Court sentenced 5 to death after 9 years

The court has sentenced 5 accused to death in the case of murder and attempted murder 9 years ago in Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh. 9 years ago, 5 accused attacked a newspaper owner and his son. During the attack, the newspaper owner’s son died while he was seriously injured and had to be hospitalized for several days. After waiting for almost 9 years, the court has given its verdict in this case.

According to information, on 26 December 2015, Satpal Chhabra, owner of a daily newspaper, and his 32-year-old son Karmaveer were attacked with saber-knife and rods in Qutubsher area due to an old enmity. Both Satpal and Karmveer were seriously injured in the attack. Both were rushed to the hospital by the locals, where doctors declared Karmaveer brought dead and Satpal was admitted and started treatment.

Karmaveer’s father Satpal was referred to a higher center where he was treated for about 6 months. After this he could go home. Satpal Chhabra named Bhupendra Singh Batra, Guru Pratap Singh, Amarjit Singh, Amarjit Singh’s son Sunny and Gurmeet Singh in the case of his daughter’s murder and his own fatal murder. The rest of the accused could not be identified.

The decision came after 9 years

The case was going on for almost 9 years in the Saharanpur court, in which the judgment has now been given. The court has sentenced all the five accused to death. The people who have been sentenced to death by the court are the two real brothers and their sons. On this decision, Satpal Chhabra has said that he has full faith in the judiciary. At last the truth prevailed.
