The results of the by-elections held in 13 assembly seats of seven states will be declared by this evening. Counting is in progress. Bihar’s Rupauli seat is also included in the places where the result will be announced today. All eyes are on Rupauli seat. One question in everyone’s mind is whether RJD’s Bima Bharti can become an MLA again?
Bima Bharti faced a crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. She contested from Purnia Lok Sabha seat in Bihar on RJD ticket but lost the election. Pappu Yadav gave him a crushing defeat. Even after losing the Lok Sabha elections, RJD again bet on Bima Bharti and gave ticket from Rupauli for the by-election.
Bima Bharti is contesting from JDU’s Kaladhar mandal in Bihar’s Rupauli assembly seat. At the same time, LJP rebel Shankar Singh is also contesting as an independent candidate, making the contest triangular. However, the real contest is between the JDU and the RJD as a by-election was held on the Rupauli seat as Bima Bharti left the JDU and joined the RJD before the Lok Sabha elections.
After this this seat became vacant. This seat has become a matter of prestige for CM Nitish Kumar. JDU wants to win this seat at any cost. RJD has also tried hard to win this seat. In such a scenario, it remains to be seen whether Bima Bharti maintains her dominance in Rupauli or Nitish Kumar’s magic works?
