Road network to be further strengthened in Punjab, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO held meeting in presence of Gadkari

A high-level meeting was held under the leadership of the National Highways Minister to strengthen the road network in Punjab. In which the Public Works Minister expressed his confidence to solve the matters related to the state government at the right time. In this meeting held in Delhi, Minister of Public Works and Electricity of Punjab Shri. Harbhajan Singh ETO participated in a high level review meeting on several projects of national highways coming up in the state to further improve the road network infrastructure in the state.

During the review, it was stated that currently 1438 km of national highways are being constructed in Punjab at a cost of around Rs 45000 crore. To accomplish this, possession of the acquired land was asked to be given at the earliest. Along with this, creation of a land bank of non-forest land to be given in lieu of land acquired by the forest department to expedite distribution of compensation amount and availability of ash from thermal power plants were also discussed.

Several projects were brought to the notice of the Union Minister

During the meeting, the issue of delay due to non-acquisition of necessary land for some projects was seriously considered and the need to find a solution at the earliest was emphasized. Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra were also present in this meeting, which was chaired by Union Minister for Highways and Transport Nitin Gadkari.

Discussions were held to make traffic more comfortable

Regarding the issues shared by the Union Minister regarding the Punjab Government, Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO assured that the state government will resolve all these matters in time. With this, traffic can be made more comfortable for the convenience of people in the state. Apart from this, projects like construction of Vehicle Under Pass (VUP) at Khan Kot to better connect state highways in Punjab and improve road safety were also brought to the attention of the Union Minister.
