After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s government-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, doctors are protesting across the country. Meanwhile, Calcutta High Court has ordered to hand over the investigation of this case to CBI. This horrific incident is being called Nirbhaya 2.0. Health Minister JP Nadda criticized the state government over the incident and said that there is no such thing as law and order in Bengal. Initially, the state government also tried to suppress the matter.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda said on the incident in a government hospital that the rape and then murder of a trainee doctor in Bengal is a heartbreaking incident. This is an incident that shook the country. This is a very sad incident. I have few words to say about this incident. There is no such thing as law and order in West Bengal.

Attacking the state’s Mamata government over the incident, Nadda said that initially the Bengal government tried to suppress the matter. No amount of condemnation is sufficient for this effort. Bengal has now become a state where there is nothing like law and order. He further said that despite having a woman Chief Minister in the state, it is sad that atrocities on women are increasing day by day.

On the High Court’s decision, Health Minister Nadda said that he welcomed the Calcutta High Court’s decision to hand over the investigation of the case to the CBI. I am confident that the truth of this matter will come out soon. He said that he met many doctors’ associations regarding this incident. I have assured him that the government and the ministry will certainly take whatever steps and measures are necessary.
The High Court handed over the investigation of the murder case to the CBI
Earlier today, the Kolkata High Court on Tuesday ordered the handover of the probe into the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital from the Kolkata Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The court has ordered the city police to hand over the case diary to the Central Investigation Agency by this evening. All other documents related to the case should also be handed over to him tomorrow at 10 am on Wednesday.
The body of a trainee doctor, who was allegedly raped and then murdered, was found in the hospital’s seminar hall on Friday morning last week. An accused was arrested in this connection on Saturday. After this massacre, protests are taking place in most of the country’s hospitals regarding the safety of doctors.
