MNS chief Raj Thackeray
The Ladli Behna scheme in Maharashtra has come under the scanner. On Saturday, MNS president Raj Thackeray questioned the plan and hit out at the government. Raj Thackeray, who visited Amaravati, said that if schemes like Ladli Brahmin are done for the selfishness of the rulers, it will have bad consequences. It is wrong if the state gets into trouble due to selfish plans.
Raj Thackeray expressed doubts that there would be no money left in the government exchequer after paying the October installment. There will be no money left to pay salaries to government employees. The state treasury will be empty in the month of January. He said that if the government wants to empower women, first of all they have to give them employment. No section of society wants things for free. If the farmers did not ask for free electricity, why did they give it free?
What is the budget of Maharashtra?
Raj Thackeray expressed doubt that there will be no money to pay employees in January. As per the Maharashtra Budget 2024-25, the revenue of the state is Rs. 4 lakh 98 thousand 758 crores and revenue expenditure Rs. 5 lakh 8 thousand 492 crores. Currently there is a revenue deficit of 9 thousand 734 crore rupees. Only the salaries of government employees, salaries of retired employees and interest on loans account for 53 percent of government expenditure.
That is 2 lakh 64 thousand 341 crore rupees were spent and capital and other expenditure is 47 percent i.e. 2 lakh 34 thousand 416 crore rupees. Instead of spending more than income, spending is being done as money comes in. 47 thousand crore rupees will be required for the Ladli Brahmin Yojana alone.
Promotion by scheme
The Ladli Brahmin Yojana is a part of the Government’s campaign. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar started this campaign. The government also held meetings and started campaigning for the scheme. Hence Raj Thackeray said that if planning is done for the selfishness of the rulers, it will have bad results. However, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said in TV9 Marathi’s conclave that the Ladli Behan scheme has been brought in thoughtfully and the money has been planned.
Number of female voters equal to male voters
It is believed that the Central Election Commission may announce the assembly elections in the state on October 10. This time 9 crore 53 lakh voters will vote for Maharashtra Assembly. In which the number of male voters is 4 crore 93 lakh and the number of female voters is 4 crore 60 lakh. That means female voters are equal to male voters and this number can prove to be decisive.
