Kunal Ghosh, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, Mamata Banerjee, Jawahar Sarkar and Shatrughan Sinha.
Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal government is on the backfoot over the RG Kar rape-murder case in Kolkata. In the rape case, questions are being raised on the leaders of Kolkata Police, RGKar administration and Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress. The CBI and ED are probing the role of Sandeep Ghosh, a doctor and former principal of RG Kar Medical College. Now mutual opposition between Trinamool Congress has come to light on this issue. Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP and former bureaucrat Jawahar Sarkar has resigned in the Kolkata rape case.
In a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Jawahar government said, “For the past one month, I have been patiently watching everyone’s reaction to the abominable incident at RG Car Hospital and wondering why you don’t jump like old Mamata Banerjee and take a direct decision.” Action Why don’t you talk to the junior doctor? The punitive measures the government is taking now are too little, too late.
Jawahar objected to the protest
Initially, Mamata Banerjee claimed that the movement was a Left-BJP movement. Mamata Banerjee accused him of spreading unrest in the state. After Mamata Banerjee now TMC leaders are also giving statement in the same tone. Jawahar Sarkar said that I believe that people who have joined this movement are protesting in a non-political and spontaneous manner, their protest is not proper.

Raise your voice on the issue of corruption
A few years ago, when the Trinamool Congress, the ruling party in the state, was facing allegations of corruption in various cases, the Jawahar government also opened up. This time also he raised the issue of corruption. He said that the spontaneous agitation and expression of anger of the common people of the state that we are witnessing at this time is due to the muscle power of some ambitious bureaucrats and corrupt people. Never in my long life have I seen so much anger and utter distrust of a government.
Sukhendu Shekhar Roy revolted
Let us tell you that earlier another Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Roy has also raised his voice in the Kolkata rape case. Now about the resignation of the Jawahar government, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy said, “I think the Jawahar government has taken this step as a conscious person. None of us is outside society. “We are taking action or raising issues because we are in society.”
Participated in the protest against the rape case
He said, “Jawahar Sarkar is an ex-bureaucrat. Explaining why he took this decision, he said in his letter, “I am firm on my goal.” My existence as a conscious citizen is like a dot among one and a half billion people. My citizen self says, you should live with civil society. I am doing this based on the voice of conscience.” Let us tell you that Sukhendu Shekhar Roy had criticized the Kolkata rape case. He supported the night recovery protest. He said that he is a father of a daughter and a grandfather of a granddaughter. He protested in front of Netaji’s statue in Jodhpur Park. Also sat on. Then on September 1, Sukhendu posted on the X handle to commemorate the fall of the Bastille.
Shatrughan Sinha said- Mamta is with him
On the other hand, film star and Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha supported Mamata Banerjee on this issue. He said that I am with CM Mamata in this matter, I am her strong soldier. He said that Mamata Banerjee’s government has brought Aparajita bill in the assembly against rape. This bill is awesome. I appeal to the Governor to pass it at the earliest.
Kunal said- the victim should get justice
On the other hand, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said Jawahar Sarkar is a respected person…he is one of the best bureaucrats in the country. They have full right to take any decision about themselves. We just want to say that we also agree with the spirit of his letter, the question is that it is his personal decision we also demand justice… We stand with the society, we also demand justice.
