Raut has put forward Uddhav Thackeray as the face of Mahavikas Aghadi for the post of Chief Minister. Raut claimed that the vote in the Lok Sabha was cast after seeing Uddhav Thackeray. But it seems that the Congress and Sharad Pawar’s party NCP have not yet accepted it. Patole said directly that there is no comet.

Fighting without a face for the post of Chief Minister is dangerous…Raut said. But Raut does not seem convinced.. But Uddhav Thackeray himself has said that Mahavikas Aghadi will decide the face at the right time.

After the results in 2019, Uddhav Thackeray joined hands with Congress and NCP and became the Chief Minister for two and a half years. Now once again Raut is seen bringing forward the name of Uddhav Thackeray… Let us understand what could be his reasons?

  • Despite contesting the maximum number of 21 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Thackeray’s Shiv Sena won only nine seats
  • Congress won 13 out of 17 seats and Sharad Pawar’s NCP won 8 out of 10 seats
  • Thackeray’s Shiv Sena stood third in the Maha Vikas Aghadi in terms of strike rate in the Lok Sabha
  • Now the Congress and Sharad Pawar faction are demanding that the allocation of assembly seats should be done on the basis of merit
  • If re-elected with fewer MLA seats, Thackeray’s Shiv Sena will not get the post of Chief Minister
  • That is why Raut had already claimed the post of Chief Minister from the Thackeray faction
  • That means even if the number of seats is reduced after the election, Uddhav Thackeray can become the CM as the face

But this strategy has also caught the attention of Congress and Sharad Pawar’s party NCP. Vadettiwar and Jayant Patel have also said that nothing has been decided yet.

As soon as Rauta took the name of Uddhav Thackeray, Shinde’s Shiv Sena attacked. Shirasat said that now that Rauta has thrown the stick, it cannot be said how far the fire will spread.

Sharad Pawar’s NCP is insisting on 100 seats… while Congress also wants more seats… In such a situation, Thackeray’s Shiv Sena is lagging behind in the Lok Sabha results… so it seems that the Thackeray faction may try to get trapped somewhere in the bargaining of seats and in the quest to get the post of Chief Minister… Bureau Report, TV9 Marathi
