Ratan Tata’s largest company Tata Consultancy Services has performed well for the second consecutive week. Among the top 10 companies, TCS saw the highest increase in its market capitalisation. In fact, a few days ago, following the quarterly results of TCS, there was a surge of around 7 per cent in the company’s shares. Due to which there has been a good increase in the market capitalisation of the company. On the other hand, the market capitalisation of ITC, Infosys and LIC has seen an increase of over Rs 20,000 crore. As per the data, there was a slight increase in the market capitalisation of Reliance Industries.

According to the report, the market capitalisation of seven of the top 10 most valuable companies on Sensex collectively increased by Rs 1,72,225.62 crore last week. While a decline of Rs 18,847.28 crore was seen in the market capitalisation of three companies. HDFC Bank suffered the maximum loss of over Rs 18,000 crore.

Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 522.74 points or 0.65 per cent. The Sensex jumped 622 points or 0.78 per cent on Friday and closed at a record high of 80,519.34. During the day, it had risen 996.17 points or 1.24 per cent to hit its all-time high of 80,893.51 points. How much has the market capitalization of the country’s top 10 companies increased?

  1. The market capitalisation of TCS, one of the largest IT companies in the country, rose by Rs 62,393.92 crore to Rs 15,14,133.45 crore. The net profit of TCS, the country’s largest IT services company, for the June quarter rose 8.7 per cent to Rs 12,040 crore. Following this, TCS shares rose by about seven per cent on Friday.
  2. Last week, the market valuation of ITC, one of the largest companies in the country, rose by Rs 31,858.83 crore to Rs 5,73,258.78 crore.
  3. The market value of Infosys, one of the largest IT companies in the country, rose by Rs 26,905.14 crore to Rs 7,10,827.27 crore.
  4. On the other hand, the valuation of the country’s largest insurance company, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), rose by Rs 22,422.12 crore to Rs 6,64,947.01 crore.
  5. The market valuation of Hindustan Unilever, one of the largest consumer goods companies in the country, has increased by Rs 17,668.92 crore to Rs 6,16,156.81 crore.
  6. The country’s largest company, Reliance Industries, reached Rs 21,60,628.75 crore with an increase of Rs 9,066.19 crore.
  7. The market value of Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest listed telecom company, rose by Rs 1,910.5 crore to Rs 8,15,705.36 crore.
  8. Contrary to this trend, HDFC Bank’s valuation declined by Rs 18,069.29 crore to Rs 12,35,825.35 crore.
  9. The market valuation of the country’s largest government lender, State Bank of India (SBI), declined by Rs 356.99 crore to Rs 7,67,204.26 crore.
  10. The market capitalisation of the country’s second-largest private lender ICICI Bank declined by Rs 210.5 crore to Rs 8,67,668.16 crore.
