TET has committed to release funds for the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff of the TET project/programme. The circular said that letter number Admn/5(1) TET-Faculty and Staff/2024 issued on 28 June 2024, addressed to all concerned teaching and non-teaching staff of the TET programme, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect. The employees are requested to continue their work and their salaries will be remitted to the institute after receipt of the TET grant.

The letter was issued on June 28.

On June 28, TISS issued termination letters to around 100 employees at its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati campuses, stating that their contracts would not be renewed and their services would end on June 30, 2024.

TISS Vice-Chancellor in-charge Prof Manoj Kumar Tiwari said that these employees were appointed under different projects funded by Tata Trust. Funding for these projects has been stopped for the last few months. Keeping this in mind, we allowed these faculty members to work at the institute on an hourly basis. But now we are unable to get financial support, so we have decided to suspend their services. We will reappoint them after receiving funds from the Trust.
