Stone pelting in religious processions
A commotion broke out on the occasion of Jalzulani Ekadashi in Jahazpur town of Shahpura district of Rajasthan. Pitambar Rai Maharaj’s procession was stoned here. There was a stampede all around following the sudden incident. The atmosphere was heated with sloganeering and stone pelting. It is being told that some youths including a woman have been injured in stone pelting. A large crowd had gathered at the scene.
In the meantime, the tension had increased a lot, after which the local people closed the shops in the market. Disgruntled by this incident, people went on strike demanding the arrest of the accused. He says that the procession will proceed only after the arrest of the accused. A large number of people were present in the procession.
Police deployed at the spot
Meanwhile, as soon as the information was received, the police administration reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police forces including Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajit Singh Magwanshi, Police Station Incharge Narpat Ram are deployed at the spot. Ajmer Range DIG Om Prakash said that the Superintendent of Police from Shahpura is reaching Jahazpur along with the police force and the situation is now under control. He said that the police team is busy searching for the accused of stone pelting. It is being said that the police have detained 10 people in this matter.

Well, this is not the first time such an incident has taken place at a religious event. Recently, two parties came face-to-face during Ganesh Visharan in Mandya, Karnataka. During this there was heavy stone pelting and firing. A policeman was also injured in the stone pelting. The rioters set fire to many shops and vehicles. There was an uproar after this incident. The incident took place in Nagamangala Town Police Station area.
