A cremation procession started from the flowing canal

People’s life is becoming difficult due to rain in Rajasthan. The situation is such that people here have to wade through a clogged drain even to fetch one’s beer to the ghat. Disaster Management Minister of Rajasthan Dr. Something similar is being seen in Sawai Madhopur, the district headquarters of Kirori Lal Meena assembly constituency. Here the local public representatives and the local administration make thousands of promises of development, but even after spending lakhs of crores, there is no development on the ground and people have to struggle to get the bodies safely to the crematorium.

In fact, it rained heavily in Sawai Madhopur today and all the rivers and drains have overflowed. Meanwhile, one person died in Vinoba Basti near Bheru Darwaza in the old town of the district headquarters. As the rains did not stop in time, it was forced for the family members and local people to take the body to the crematorium and then perform the last rites.

There is a drain on the way to the crematorium

The Latiya drain on the way to the cremation ground was filled with rain water so much that it became difficult for people to reach the crematorium for the funeral procession, however, people gathered courage and left for the cremation ground with the bodies. Due to heavy rains and swelling in the Latiya drains, people risked their lives and crossed the drains with dead bodies. In many places the dead bodies were saved by falling from the beers. The people involved in the crematorium held each other’s hands and somehow crossed the flowing drain and took the dead body to the crematorium, after which the dead body was cremated.

Not a single bridge has been built yet

Meghna Verma, councilor of Vinoba Basti, said that there is a culvert on the way from Vinoba Basti to the crematorium over which no bridge has been constructed till date. In such a situation if a death occurs in a house in Vinoba basti during rains, the residents of the settlement face the ordeal of taking the dead body to the crematorium for cremation. Councilor Meghna Verma said that even today one person living in the colony died. Due to heavy rains, there was a strong flow of water in the Latia canal, but the cremation of the dead body was necessary, due to which the people of the colony had to risk their lives to carry the dead body.
