The special session of the 18th Lok Sabha began on Monday. Today, on the second day of the session, the newly elected MPs took oath. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also took oath as a Lok Sabha member. However, this time Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made a mistake. Rahul Gandhi brought a copy of the Constitution to take the oath of MP. He took the oath of Lok Sabha membership by showing the copy of the Constitution to the ruling party. While taking the oath of MP, Rahul Gandhi was holding a copy of the Constitution in one hand. Rahul Gandhi has been elected from Rae Bareli constituency of Uttar Pradesh. On the second day of Lok Sabha proceedings, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav took oath as a Lok Sabha member. He has been elected from Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency. While taking oath, he also had a copy of the Constitution in his hand. Apart from Akhilesh Yadav, his wife and SP MP from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav also took oath.

SP MP from Muzaffarnagar Mahendra Malik, MP from Kairana Iqra Chaudhary, MP from Firozabad Akshay Yadav, MP from Badaun Aditya Yadav and many other Samajwadi Party MPs took the oath of membership. After them, when Rahul Gandhi called their names for the oath, most of the opposition members welcomed them by raising loud slogans. Not only Congress MPs but MPs of other opposition parties also stood up and welcomed them.

Rahul Gandhi took the oath of membership. After taking the oath, he raised the slogan Jai Hind, Jai Samvidhaan. After taking the oath, Rahul Gandhi signed it directly without meeting the President as per tradition. Rahul Gandhi signed and moved ahead. At the same time, Congress and other MPs reminded that Rahul Gandhi did not meet the President. Rahul Gandhi realized his mistake and he turned back and met the President. On this occasion, Congress members stood up from their seats and raised the slogan ‘Jodo Jodo, Bharat Jodo’. Rahul Gandhi congratulated Speaker Om Birla on becoming the Speaker. Speaker Om Birla also accepted his congratulations. While taking oath in the Lok Sabha, many opposition members reached the House with a copy of the Constitution in their hands.
