Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India ended the 13-year wait for the ICC trophy. Team India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final and won the T20 World Cup after 17 years and the ICC trophy after 13 years. Team India challenged South Africa to score 177 runs to win. But Team India’s bowlers stopped South Africa at 169 runs and registered their name on the World Cup trophy. After this historic victory of Team India, both Team India captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli decided to retire from T20I cricket. Virat and Rohit’s T20 journey with Team India has ended.
