Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is taking major steps to empower women and ensure their participation in many sectors. As part of this commitment, job skill camps will be started in all districts by the state government soon. The first camp was inaugurated by Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur will on September 10 in Muktsar Sahib district.
Giving more information about this, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted the government’s commitment to the welfare of women, children and the elderly. He said that Punjab government is giving special priority to raise the standard of living of women and these skill development camps are an important step in this direction.
Development of employment among women
He said that these camps will be organized in educational institutions with the help of Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training. The objective of these camps is to equip women with the necessary skills, knowledge and resources to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship and help them get jobs.
Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized that the main objective of these camps is to eliminate gender-based disparity in employment, encourage economic empowerment and build self-confidence among women. He further said that in today’s times it has become more important to provide assistance to women to develop their skills so as to ensure equal opportunities for them to work in various fields.
Social development of all classes
The Cabinet Minister reiterated the Punjab Government’s strong commitment to the well-being of all social classes with special focus on women empowerment. He said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, various initiatives are being implemented for the overall development of women across the state.
