The Punjab government on Friday made a big announcement regarding the commission dues of ration depot holders. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Lalchand Kattaruchak said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is fully committed to protect the interests of depot holders and all stakeholders involved in the state’s economy.
He said that to ensure the welfare of the depot holders, the state government under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the commission paid to the depot holders at Rs. 45 crore will deposit the remaining margin money directly into their bank account by next week.
Lalchand Kataruchak said that after disbursement under NFSA, FPS dealers have received margin money of Rs. 61.45 crores have been issued. The cabinet minister said that the outstanding payment of margin money to the depot holders will be completed once the current amount is announced.
He emphasized that the state government is committed to the welfare of Fair Price Shops (FPS) dealers. Also, for proper distribution of wheat under NFSA, one EPOS machine has already been provided at each FPS.
The minister said that a work order has also been issued for 14000 electronic weighing machines. In the next 4 weeks, all fair price shops will be equipped with electronic weighing machines. Kataruchakkak asked the dealers of reasonable price shops to ensure smooth distribution of food grains to the beneficiaries.
