Punjab: Abolition of NOC condition shows impact, revenue from land-property registry increases by 26% – Brahmashankar Jimpa

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has been steadily increasing its revenue from land and property registrations. Punjab Government has earned 26% more revenue during August 2024 as compared to August 2023. Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa said that providing transparent and corruption-free services to the people of Punjab is the main objective of the Aam Aadmi Party government. Due to which the revenue of the state is continuously increasing.

The revenue minister said that in August 2024, the Punjab government earned Rs 440.92 crore under stamps and registration. Which is 26.24% more than the month of August 2023. In August 2023, this income was Rs 349.26 crore.

Income is increasing continuously

He said that earlier, the Punjab government earned Rs 452.96 crore under stamp and registration in June 2024, which was 42% more than the month of June 2023. In June 2023, this income was Rs 319.33 crore. JIMPA further said that in May 2024 also Rs 526.36 crore came into the government exchequer, while in May 2023 this amount was Rs 430.63 crore. This increase was 22% compared to last year.

The condition of NOC has expired

He said that the revenue of the state is continuously increasing and huge amount is coming to the government exchequer under stamp and registration. The revenue is likely to increase further in the near future as the registry will increase further after the abolition of the NOC condition. He said that Punjab government is taking concrete steps from day one to make the work of revenue department corruption free.

A helpline number has also been released

The Revenue Minister said that after assuming power in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had issued a helpline number for complaints against corrupt officers/employees, which is showing results. He said that a number 8184900002 has also been issued for registering complaints related to the work of the revenue department. NRIs can register their complaint on number 9464100168.
