Pune: The use of drone cameras for private filming of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Sohala has been banned. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar announced on Saturday that any private filming without police permission will result in legal action.
The palkhi ceremony for Sant Shreshtha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Tukaram Maharaj will arrive in the city on Sunday (June 30), attracting a large number of warkaris. Some participants use drone cameras to capture moments of the ceremony. However, due to concerns over potential misuse, the police have prohibited drone filming without prior permission.
Permission Process
To use a drone camera, an application must be submitted at the local police station. The police will review the application and decide on approval. This order will remain in effect until July 3.
Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized the need for this measure to prevent possible subversive activities and misuse of drone footage. Legal action will be taken against those who film without permission.
