People trapped in Bhushi Dam

A woman and four children were swept away while visiting Bhushi Dam in Pune, Maharashtra. On receiving the information, the disaster management team swung into action and conducted a search operation and recovered the bodies of the woman and two children. However, there is no information about the two children yet. This case pertains to the falls near the backwaters of Bhushi Dam. A large-scale search operation is currently being conducted here by the Disaster Management Team.

According to information, around 1.30 pm on Sunday, more than half a dozen children along with a 40-year-old woman went to bathe in the waterfall. Meanwhile, a 13-year-old girl started drowning in the water of the lake due to her foot slipping. The woman entered the water to save him and she too started drowning. After this one after another other children also entered the water and started drowning. By the time they were relieved outside, the woman and the four children had started to drift away with the current.

Three bodies were found

The people present at the scene created an uproar. After this, the disaster management team started searching for all. After some time, the team pulled out the bodies of the woman and two children from the water. The search for the remaining children is on. According to information, Bhushi Dam is currently overflowing due to continuous rains. However, tourists do not avoid bathing in it at the risk of their lives. A similar incident happened on Sunday as well.

Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh said that the relief work is going on fast. So far, the bodies of a 40-year-old woman and a 13-year-old child have been recovered, while the search is on for two 6-year-old girls and a 4-year-old boy. According to SP Rural, all these are said to be members of the same family. Later in the evening, the rescue team recovered the body of another child.
