‘Bajirao Mastani’ released in 2015 had the names of superstars like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. In which Ranveer Singh played the role of ‘Peshwa Bajirao’, Priyanka Chopra played the role of his first wife ‘Kashibai’ and Deepika Padukone played the role of Bajirao’s second wife ‘Mastani’. This film was a superhit. All the actors of the film were so engrossed in their respective roles as if this role was created only for them. Recently, an old video of this film is going viral on social media, in which a journalist asked Priyanka Chopra why she did not play the role of ‘Mastani’ in the film? Or did Sanjay Leela Bhansali tell him to be ‘mastani’?
What was Priyanka Chopra’s answer?
In response to this question, Priyanka said, “For the role of Kashibai, I have been sent so many flowers that my house looks like a garden. Have you seen the movie? Why would I do that? Don’t you like Kashi? Seeing my house has become a garden.” Priyanka’s answer left people speechless. Even though the screen time of Priyanka’s role in the film is less, people have liked her character a lot. His dialogue in the film “You asked for our lives, we would have gladly given them, but you robbed us of our pride” is very famous.
