Pride of inflation is broken: Delhi, Himachal, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand are among the cheapest states

The inflation rate has been seen below 4 percent in many states across the country.

In July, the pride of inflation seemed to be broken. The inflation rate in the country fell to the lowest level in five years – 3.54 percent. Many states in the country have contributed to bringing the level of inflation to this level. What is special is that Jharkhand came out on top among the states with the lowest inflation in the country. On the other hand, out of the 22 states included in the government’s list, there are 16 states where the inflation rate is below 4 percent. What is special is that in no state in the country is the inflation rate equal to or higher than 6 percent. The highest inflation rate has been observed in Bihar. Where the figure is slightly less than 6 percent. Let us also tell you what inflation rate has been observed in the major states of the country.

According to MSPI data, there are 6 states where the inflation figures are above 4 percent. In two of these states, inflation rate of more than 5 percent has been observed. The inflation rate in Assam was 5.11 percent. The highest inflation rate of 5.87 percent has been observed in Bihar. On the other hand, the inflation rate in Haryana was 4.52 percent, in Kerala 4.51 percent, in Odisha 4.83 percent and in Uttar Pradesh the inflation rate was 4.57 percent. If experts are to be believed, the inflation rate in these states may come down further in the coming months.

Inflation here remained between 3 and 4 percent.

On the other hand, in many states the inflation rate has been between 3 and 4 per cent. According to MSPI data, 9 states in the country have recorded an inflation rate of 3 to 4 per cent. The inflation rate has been observed at 3.39 per cent in Andhra Pradesh, 3.16 per cent in Gujarat, 3.46 per cent in Karnataka, 3.04 per cent in Madhya Pradesh, 3.23 per cent in Maharashtra, 3.03 per cent in Punjab, Tamil Nadu 3 per cent, 3.52 per cent in West Bengal and 3.55 per cent in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the other hand, there are many states where the inflation rate has been below 3 percent. According to statistics, the lowest inflation in the country was recorded in Jharkhand. Where the inflation rate is less than 2 percent. According to MSPI data, the inflation rate in Jharkhand was 1.72 percent in the month of July. On the other hand, the inflation rate was 2.16 percent in Chhattisgarh, 2.06 percent in Delhi, 2.84 percent in Himachal Pradesh, 2.53 percent in Rajasthan, 2.88 percent in Telangana and 2.81 percent in Uttarakhand.

Inflation at five-year low

Due to weakening food prices, the retail inflation rate fell to 3.54 per cent in July. This is the first time in nearly five years that inflation has fallen below the Reserve Bank of India’s four per cent target. Retail inflation based on the consumer price index was 5.08 per cent in June this year. While in July last year it was 7.44 per cent. According to data from the National Statistical Office (NSO), food inflation stood at 5.42 per cent in July. In June it was 9.36 per cent. Earlier, retail inflation had been below four per cent in September 2019. The government has given the Reserve Bank the responsibility of keeping retail inflation at four per cent with a variation of two per cent.
