President Draupadi Murmu offered prayers at the Mahakaleshwar temple.
President Draupadi Murmu reached Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple during her stay in Ujjain on Thursday and had darshan of Baba Mahakal. President Murmu saw Baba Mahakal for the first time. After reaching the temple, President Murmu offered water to Baba Mahakal and performed the pooja. He also prayed to Lord Shri Mahakal for the progress of the country and state, welfare of the people and world peace.
Draupadi Murmu, the country’s first tribal woman President, visited Baba Mahakal in Ujjain during her stay in Madhya Pradesh. State Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Governor Mangubhai Patel were also present on this occasion. President Draupadi Murmu anointed Baba Mahakal with water and panchamrut during darshan at Mahakaleshwar temple. The President offered formal prayers in the temple.
President visited Baba Mahakal
President Draupadi Murmu prayed for progress of country and state, welfare of people and world peace at Baba Mahakal temple. After reaching the temple, he worshiped Lord Nandikeshwar in the Nandi Mandapam and also meditated on Baba Mahakaleshwar. The Mahakaleshwar temple was decorated with flowers to celebrate the arrival of the President. He was also welcomed with the playing of cymbals and tamaru.

After the puja, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on behalf of the temple committee honored the President by offering clothes, prasad and a memento. Temple priest Pandit Akash, assistant priest Shailendra Sharma, Ram Pujari, Abhishek Sharma and Ajay Pujari were also present on the occasion. Giving the message of cleanliness to the people of the country, President Murmu also swept the temple premises. A video of the President cleaning the temple has also surfaced, in which she is seen cleaning the temple along with the Chief Minister and the Governor of the state.
