A different kind of incident has come to light in Golghar, Kent police station area of Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. After filling petrol from the petrol pump here, after going some distance, the customers’ vehicles started stopping. After showing it to the mechanic, it was found that the petrol put in it was not petrol but water. After which customers pushed their vehicles and reached the petrol pump and started protesting. On getting the information, the officials of the supply department sealed the pump and issued a notice against the operator. A large crowd gathered there. There was an uproar. He called the operator of the filling station. Seeing the commotion, he returned the customers’ money.

There is an Indian Oil petrol pump named Ganesh Das Ramgopal Filling Station near the Kali Mandir in Golghar. After filling their vehicles with petrol from the pump and driving a short distance, their vehicles started to stop. Some people went to the mechanic and he said that there is water instead of petrol. In such a situation, many people pushed their vehicles back to the petrol pump and started protesting against the operator. Meanwhile, the car of Prem Anand Singh of Balapar Road in Maharajganj also stopped a little away. When he also called the mechanic, he said that there was no petrol or water in it. He immediately called the supply department officials. Its inspector Arun Kumar Singh immediately reached the spot. He pacified the people with the help of the police.

What did the District Supply Officer say?

Regarding this, District Supply Officer Ramendra Pratap Singh said that an explanation has been sought from the operator. The petrol pump has been sealed. Under no circumstances will customers be allowed to act arbitrarily.

How is petrol made from water?

On the other hand, experts say that ethanol is mixed in petrol. Ethanol turns into water as soon as ethanol blended petrol comes in contact with water. Such incidents are seen taking place during the rainy season. If rain water from any source reaches inside the tank, it turns into ethanol water. In such a situation, if a customer puts such petrol in his car, his engine faces problems. Petrol should be checked before filling, but operators do not do this.
