Violent demonstration by Hindu organizations in the mandi

Hindu organizations also staged protests in Mandi town after a violent demonstration demanding the demolition of an illegal mosque in capital Shimla’s Sanjauli. When the demonstrators tried to break the barricade near the Sakodi bridge, the police used water cannons to disperse the crowd. There has been talk of holding a protest until the demand for the demolition of the mosque is met.

Violent protests took place in Sanjauli in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla demanding the demolition of an illegal mosque. Now even in Chhoti Kashi Mandi, Hindu organizations took out a protest rally in the city and raised slogans. After Gopal Kapoor addressed the protesters at Seri Channi, the rally proceeded to the mosque. When the demonstrators tried to break the barricades near Sakodi Bridge, the police used water cannons to disperse the crowd, after which the demonstrators could not advance.

About 300 police personnel deployed

About 300 police personnel were deployed to control the large crowd of people present and did not allow people to go beyond Barigatus. Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorva Devgan also spoke to the people to prevent violent protests. While the municipal corporation has decided to demolish the illegal mosque within a month, the deputy commissioner has issued orders to close the mosque. People of Hindu organizations are not satisfied with the assurance received from the Deputy Commissioner. He says that reassurances will do nothing, if the administration does not demolish this illegal mosque soon, the protests will resume and intensify. He said that first there was a small room here, then it came to be known that it was a mosque. Gradually this mosque was built but no action was taken against the illegal construction.

Demand to demolish illegal mosque

The demand of the people is not only to demolish the illegal mosque but also to register people coming from outside states. People say that there is a concentration of immigrants from outside states in Himachal. The state is being made a disturbed state. This kind of demonstration has never happened before, cases of extortion and theft are increasing day by day. Section 163 is in force in 7 wards of the city due to protests. Police arrangements were made in every nook and cranny of the city. Barricades were installed near the Sakodi bridge due to which the employees and people going to the hospital, offices faced difficulties.
