Political heat is being witnessed in Maharashtra ahead of the announcement of assembly election dates. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Maharashtra on Friday. During this visit, PM Modi will address the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2024 in Mumbai. He will then proceed to Palghar where he will also lay the foundation stone of the nearly Rs 76,000 crore Wadhawan Port project.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that PM Modi will address the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2024 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai on Friday. This special session was jointly organized by FinTech Convergence Council, National Payments Corporation of India and Payments Council of India. The conference will feature 800 speakers addressing over 350 sessions.
Vadwan port will be built in a modern way
After this, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development related projects at CIDCO ground in Palghar at 1.30 pm. It also includes the foundation stone of Wadwan Port. The total cost of this project is around Rs 76,000 crore. The PMO said the Wadhawan Port project aims to create a world-class sea gateway, which will promote trade and economic development of the country.
The Wadhawan port to be built near Dahanu town in Palghar will be one of the largest deep water ports in the country. It will be directly linked to international sea transport. This will save construction time and also reduce costs. The port will be fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. Its management system will also be sophisticated.
will inaugurate fisheries schemes
Apart from this, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of 218 fisheries projects worth around Rs 1,560 crore. These projects aim to boost the infrastructure and productivity of the area. This is expected to create more than 5 lakh employment opportunities in the fisheries sector.
Not only this, the Prime Minister will also launch a communication and support system for fishing vessels at a cost of around Rs 360 crore. Under this project, one lakh transponders will be installed on mechanized and motorized fishing boats in 13 coastal states and union territories in a phased manner.
Other projects the Prime Minister will inaugurate include development of fishing ports and integrated water parks, recirculatory aquaculture systems and adoption of advanced technologies such as biofloc.
