Schedule of PM Modi’s visit to Maharashtra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Maharashtra on August 30. During this period, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several projects in Mumbai and Palghar. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the nearly Rs 76,000 crore Wadhawan Port project in Palghar. He will also address the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) in Mumbai.
Prime Minister Modi will address the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2024 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai on August 30 at 11 am. After this, at around 1:30 PM, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development projects at CIDCO ground in Palghar. Wadhawan Port, located near Dahanu town in Palghar district, will be one of the largest deep water ports in India.
The port is expected to be completed by 2039.
Wadhawan Port will provide direct connectivity to international shipping routes, reducing transit time and cost. The port will have a deep berth, efficient cargo handling facilities and a modern management system equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. The port will enhance India’s maritime connectivity and further strengthen its position as a global trade hub.
The port is being constructed by Wadwan Port Project Limited. It is an entity formed by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB), which hold 74% and 26% respectively. The first phase of the port will be completed by 2029, while the second and final phase is expected to be completed by 2039.
Fishing vessels will be fitted with transponders
Along with this, the Prime Minister spent about Rs. He will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones of 218 fisheries projects costing Rs 1,560 crore. It aims to boost the infrastructure and productivity of this sector across the country. These initiatives are expected to create more than five lakh employment opportunities in the fisheries sector.

The country’s top regulators, including Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chief Madhavi Puri Buch, will also be represented at the event. GFF is an annual fintech conference.

This year the Global FinTech Fest is being organized in Mumbai from August 28 to 30. It will include more than 800 speakers and 80,000 participants in more than 350 sessions. GEF is organized jointly by Payments Council of India, National Payments Corporation of India and Fintech Convergence Council.
