He said that the ideas of the participants in the meeting will shape not only their businesses but also the future of India. According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi described the times ahead as technology-driven and said that semiconductors are the foundation of the digital era and the day is not far when the semiconductor industry will prove to be the foundation stone for basic needs as well.

He stressed that democracy and technology together can ensure the well-being of humanity and India is moving forward on this path, recognising its global responsibility in the semiconductor sector. The statement said they discussed the pillars of development, which include developing social, digital and physical infrastructure, promoting inclusive growth, reducing compliance burden and attracting investments in manufacturing and innovation.

He also mentioned the government’s strong focus on the availability of talent and skills in India for the availability of skilled manpower. He said that India’s focus is on developing globally competitive products.
