After the major terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Riasi, now the security agencies have got a lot of information. Security agencies have received information that a large network of foreign terrorists funded by Pakistan is working to reactivate terrorist activities south of the Pir Panjal range.
Security agencies have received information that around 35 to 40 foreign terrorists are present around this area. These terrorists are active in small teams in the Pir Panjal range area. In which each group usually has two to three members. Sources in the security forces said the assessment was based on intelligence and ground operations.
These foreign (Pakistani) terrorists are part of some old terrorist organization. According to information received by the security agencies, attempts are being made to rekindle militancy in Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua sectors of Jammu region for the last three years. Recent attacks targeting Hindu pilgrims and security forces in Riasi and Kathua also reveal their intentions.
The anti-terrorist grid is being strengthened
All the security forces along with the intelligence agencies have realized that the second layer of anti-terrorist grid should be strengthened along the border to thwart the infiltration of terrorists across the international border. Seeing this, security agencies are on alert mode. Efforts are being made to enhance both human and technological intelligence capabilities in this area.
In response to the latest threat, the Indian Army has deployed additional troops and armored vehicles to the area. This also includes teams carrying out immediate counter-terrorism operations equipped with around 200 armored vehicles procured under the Emergency Protocol.
