Entrepreneur Namita Thapar may have gained popularity with her famous statement “I’m Out” on the show Shark Tank India. But the public didn’t think much of her and her company. That’s why when she came to the market with the IPO of her company Emcure Pharmaceuticals, people invested a lot of money and subscribed until the last day.

Emcure Pharmaceuticals IPO has received 67.87 million subscriptions till the last day. Along with institutional buyers, retail investors have also invested heavily in the company’s IPO.

Bids received worth Rs 9,37,43,73,69,120

According to data from the National Stock Exchange, Emcure Pharmaceuticals had sought bids for 1,37,03,538 shares under the IPO, while it received bids for 92,99,97,390 shares. The company has received huge subscription from all categories of investors. When more bids are received for an IPO than expected, it means that people have invested more money than expected.

For the IPO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, the company had fixed the price band per share between Rs 960 and Rs 1008. If the upper limit is also considered final, then the company would receive Rs 13,81,31,66,304 in exchange for the issued shares, but due to people’s confidence in it, bids of Rs 9,37,43,73,69,120 were received. Now the shares will be allotted to the successful investors on July 8 and the company will refund the remaining money.

A lot of money came in across all categories.

Shares were issued in different categories for Emcure Pharmaceuticals IPO. 195.83 times of subscription have been received in the qualified institutional buyers section. While in the non-institutional investors category the subscription was 48.32 times and in the retail investors category 7.21 times of subscription was received.

The company’s shares are trading at a premium of Rs 371 in the grey market. The grey market premium (GMP) is considered the potential listing price of a stock. The size of this IPO was Rs 1,952 crore.
