Chhagan Bhujbal and Sharad Pawar

What new turn is coming in Maharashtra politics before assembly elections? Behind this, OBC leader Chhagan Bhujbal, a veteran of Ajit Pawar’s camp, suddenly reached former Chief Minister Sharad Pawar’s house on Monday to meet him. The one-and-a-half-hour long meeting between the two leaders at Mumbai’s Silver Oak took place at a time when political activity is at a premium over the assembly elections.

There is talk of restlessness among the leaders of the Ajit Pawar camp after the political defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, as the NCP managed to win only one seat while Sharad Pawar’s party got 8 seats. Out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 30 seats while the NDA managed to get only 17 seats. In such a situation, is Chhagan Bhujbal’s intention in meeting Sharad Pawar to bring peace between Marathas and OBCs or is he looking for a solution for himself?

Chhagan Bhujbal’s request to Sharad Pawar

After meeting Sharad Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal said that the situation in Maharashtra is getting worse due to growing rivalry between Marathas and OBCs over reservation. This kind of caste polarization is not right. Due to this he has met Sharad Pawar and requested him to take initiative to bring peace between Maratha-OBC. The Maratha community is boycotting the OBC institutions, which is a threat to the welfare of Maharashtra. He further said that I will meet anyone on the issue of OBC and Maratha community. I am also ready to meet Rahul Gandhi if required.

What is the strategy behind meeting Sharad Pawar?

Chhagan Bhujbal has now reached Sharad Pawar’s house to make peace between Marathas and OBCs. But, when the Maharashtra government took steps to give reservation to the Marathas, Chhagan Bhujbal was roaming the state and inflaming the sentiments of the OBCs. Because of this, not only BJP and Eknath Shinde but also Ajit Pawar were angry with him. In such a situation, Chhagan Bhujbal wants to hit many targets with one stone by talking about Sharad Pawar’s interference. On the one hand Chhagan Bhujbal is trying to bridge the gap between the OBCs and the Marathas, on the other hand there is no strategy to mend relations with Sharad Pawar.

Ajit Pawar rebelled with Chhagan Bhujbal.

Ajit Pawar along with Chhagan Bhujbal played the bugle of rebellion against Sharad Pawar. Ajit Pawar joined the NDA by bringing 40 NCP MLAs with him. Ajit Pawar took the party away from Sharad Pawar. In which the role of Chhagan Bhujbal was also important. In such a situation Chhagan Bhujbal could not achieve the position he went with Ajit Pawar. The situation has changed after the Lok Sabha elections, due to which Bhujbal’s mind is also changing.

Is Bhujbal’s mind changing with Lok Sabha election results?

Sharad Pawar has succeeded in proving that the real NCP is his party in the Lok Sabha elections. Sharad Pawar has managed to win 8 of his quota of 10 parliamentary seats in the state. Since then it is being said that all MLAs from Ajit Pawar’s camp are planning to return. Bhujbal’s meeting with Sharad Pawar is being seen in the same light. Political analysts believe that Chhagan Bhujbal was seeking a Rajya Sabha seat for himself, but Ajit Pawar was not ready.

Former Chief Minister Sharad Pawar has proved himself in the Lok Sabha elections and with the way India Alliance has turned out, Chhagan Bhujbal is now trying to mend their relationship. His interview with Sharad Pawar is seen in this episode. Chhagan is looking for a way to compromise Bhujbal reservation in the name of peace between Marathas and OBCs because he cannot adjust himself to the NDA camp?
