BJP’s Kaushal Kishor will now take out the DPA Yatra

From 2014 to 2024, the politics of Uttar Pradesh has changed a lot. Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav succeeded in breaking the social engineering through which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strengthened its political roots in UP 10 years ago through the PDA (Backward-Dalit-Minority) formula. Now Kaushal Kishore, a former Union Minister in the Modi government, is going on a DPA (Dalit-Backward-Forward) journey to counter the PDA formula. This is being called BJP’s backdoor plan.

The loss of the OBC and Dalit vote bank in the Lok Sabha elections that ended last month shook the BJP to its core, as the party fell from 62 to 33 seats. BJP is constantly churning politics over UP and planning to regain its lost political base.

Working to get vote bank

BJP’s National General Secretary Organization BL Santosh has now tasked party leaders, ministers and officials related to Dalit and Backward Classes to bring back this vote bank to the party. BL Santosh has instructed the party leaders to increase communication and access between Dalits and OBCs.

On the other hand, former Union Minister and Dalit face Kaushal Kishor has announced to take SP’s PDA vs DPA formula to every village. Kaushal Kishor has raised the voice of holding a DPA Yatra in the state after August 15 next month. He has announced the ‘DPA’ Yatra during a program organized by Parakh Mahasangh in Lucknow on the topic ‘Indian Constitution is and will remain’.

Meanwhile, he said that the work of empowerment of SC, ST and backward communities of every category has to be done quickly. For this, it is necessary for the public as well as the government to be aware. For this, Lucknow, Sitapur, Barabanki, Hardoi, Unnao and Rae Bareli will be included in the first phase of DPA Yatra i.e. ‘Dalit-Backward-Forward is the Constitution and the Constitution will remain’. journey The confusion spread by the opposition will be removed by holding dialogues and meetings with the people during the yatra.

The opposition spreads lies and illusions: Kishore

The former Union Minister said that the Indian alliance including SP and Congress is running a PDA campaign in Uttar Pradesh to spread lies and illusions that the constitution will change if the Modi government comes to power. For this it is necessary to make the society aware, for which DPA Yatra has been planned. He said that the SP and Congress asked the backward Dalit minorities to unite, but forgot the advanced society, when even in the advanced society there are very poor people who need to be mainstreamed. That is why it is named DPA. This journey will be started from these 6 districts Lucknow, Sitapur, Barabanki, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli.

Kaushal Kishor, a former minister in the Modi government, may be traveling at his own level to challenge the party’s PDA formula, but he is being considered for the way he wants to rally Dalits and backward classes to his party. BJP means BJP has back door support somewhere. In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition spread the word of changing the constitution and abolishing reservation in every village, which further fueled this resentment.

BJP is steadily declining in the state

BJP workers had no answer to this. Due to which the BJP lost 29 seats, in UP which won 71 seats in 2014 and 62 seats in 2019, it got only 33 seats in 2024 elections.

In several Lok Sabha seats in UP, Yadavs and Dalits came together and swung to the SP. Because of this BJP did not get votes even on reserved seats. 10 years ago in 2014, BJP won all 17 reserved Lok Sabha seats in UP. In 2019, BJP had only 14 seats. This time in the Lok Sabha elections BJP had to be satisfied with only 8 seats, while SP won 7, Congress one and Chandrasekhar of Azad Samaj Party also won from Nagina. In this way, the PDA formula of the party became expensive for the BJP in the elections.

BJP’s Kaushal Kishor faced defeat from Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha seat after 10 years due to party’s PDA formula. He reached Parliament with back-to-back wins in 2014 and 2019, but this time he could not register a hat-trick of wins. The SP has also planned to contest the 2027 elections on the PDA formula, which has already been worked on.

Strategies to Cope with the PDA Formula

SP will now move on to the PDA formula. In such a situation, their eyes are fixed on Scheduled Caste voters. Since the Lok Sabha elections, the SP has raised a new challenge against the BJP in UP. That is why a strategy has been made to counter SP’s PDA formula at all costs and a plan has been made to counter it at multiple levels.

The SP believes that the BJP still has a strong hold on the Brahmin, Rajput and Vaishya classes, who currently have no hope of coming together. Hence the entire focus is on Dalit-backward and minority votes. Although SP will make efforts in all departments, its special focus is on Dalits.

The BJP has also started an exercise to re-engage Dalits and backward classes. For this, BJP leaders have been deployed at the front and a plan has been made to manipulate them from the back door on the other front. Former Union Minister Kaushal Kishore has adopted the strategy of creating a political environment by taking out DPA Yatra with the help of social organization Parakh. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether the BJP can regain the confidence of its slipping support.
