Anubhav Sinha has created a web series on the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC-814. The series was released on 29 August on Netflix. The special thing about this series is that many powerful actors of Hindi cinema have worked together in it. Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapoor are also seen in important roles in this. Both these actors have a different position in terms of acting in Bollywood. Now Anubhav Sinha has spoken about his casting in the series.
Almost a week after the release of this web series, the makers held a press conference in Mumbai yesterday. Almost the entire cast was present on this occasion. There have been many talks about the series. Meanwhile, Anubhav Sinha shared a casting story related to Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapoor. He said, “Vijay (Verma) was cast first. Then everything else happened. Then these two characters started growing up. At first I didn’t think it would be so important. But at some point we realized that these two are very important characters. Then there was a meeting about who would play these two parts.
Anubhav Sinha said, “Then we started thinking about names. Snowfall wasn’t the first time snowfall came late. Then one day suddenly the alarm went off and I spoke to Naseer bhai and Pankaj bhai. First I went to Nasirbhai. Nasirbhai was in a good mood that day. He said yes ok I am doing. I hadn’t even finished speaking. Then I ran away before he changed his mind.”

Anubhav Sinha called Pankaj Kapoor after talking to Naseeruddin Shah. He said, “I called them. Said no, I won’t. He (Pankaj Kapoor) explained the reason. This was a complete read. Controversy over series
Yesterday, the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry met Netflix India Vice President Monica Shergill regarding the web series controversy. After this, Netflix decided that a disclaimer would be inserted at the beginning of the series. In which the real and code names of the kidnappers will be mentioned. On being called by the ministry and questioned on the name controversy, Anubhav Sinha responded and asked, “Have you watched the series?” When he didn’t get an answer, he said, “I can’t talk to you.” You haven’t watched the series at all.”

The web series ‘IC-814 The Kandahar Hijack’ features five hijackers. They are named Bhola, Shankar, Burger, Doctor and Chief. Now there is a controversy over the names of terrorists, Bhola and Shankar. It is being said that the terrorists have hurt the sentiments of Hindus by taking the name of Bhola and Shankar. As soon as the central government also appeared strict in this matter, the government sent a summons to the Vice President of Netflix, Monica Shergill, and asked her to appear.
