Rain likely in Uttarakhand
There are still a few days left for the arrival of monsoon in Uttarakhand, but the forecast of the Meteorological Department has raised the tension of the people. The department has issued yellow and orange alerts in view of the possibility of heavy rains in several districts of Uttarakhand. At the same time, light to moderate rains are predicted in some districts. Meteorologists say that the state may receive heavy rains on June 28 and 29.
In the month of June, Uttarakhand has received 60 percent less rain than before. In Dehradun it has increased by 32 percent and in Haridwar it has increased to almost nothing. No other district received as much rain as it did earlier. It is being said that this problem is being seen due to cutting of trees in Uttarakhand. The people of Dehradun recently took action like the Chipko movement on it.
What did the Director of Meteorological Department say?
Director of Meteorological Department Bikram Singh said that this time the arrival of monsoon in Uttarakhand has been delayed by seven days. Rain is likely in some districts on June 28 and 29. Monsoon will enter the state fully after two days of rain. Heavy rainfall is likely in all districts in July.
Chance of heavy rain in Uttarkashi and Chamoli
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi, Almod, Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal for the next two days and has also predicted heavy rain, strong winds and lightning at some places.
Orange alert has been issued in Dehradun
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Nainital, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag and Dihri Garhwal along with state capital Dehradun for the next few days. Due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder.
